Launch of the Zero Suicide Alliance

Over 6,000 people take their own lives every year in the UK and Mersey Care, Dr Geraldine Strathdee and Steve Mallen have come together to form the Zero Suicide Alliance, which aims to get specific commitments from NHS organisations to aim for zero suicide amongst patients in their care.

The Alliance, inspired from work carried out in Detroit,  is already backed by about half of mental health trusts in England and 25% of Clinical Commissioning Groups.
